Ok, cuz I'm awake you'll also get my suggestions here... Kurt Vonnegut, Hunter S. Thompson, Douglas Adams and Robert A Heinlein.
Whether you choose fiction or 'non' you'll find it by these guys and in top form.
Oh my...I don't mean to seem sexist so of course I recommend Joan Didion, Naomi Wolf, and Naomi Klein too!

I have a short list of favorite authors. At the top of the list is James Lee Burke. (I think he might be a wobbly but doesn't know it. John Grisham-Nelson DeMille-......more later

Oh yeah, and Moon...the Marquis de Sade's PHILOSOPHY OF THE BEDROOM is hell-steamy. John Cleland's FANNY HILL aka MEMOIRS OF A WOMAN OF PLEASURE fits the bill. MOLL FLANDERS can be dicey too, although it's like 18th Century. Radine...I like your list except Heinlein. For speculative fiction, I prefer Kim Stanley Robinson. Yankee...thanks for the tips. I don't know these guys.
